The Portuguese Water Dog Club of Great Britain was founded in 1989, and is the Kennel Club registered breed club in the UK. The Club hosts several events each year such as, a fun day, a match against other breeds, a judges seminar and 2 shows, as well as sending representatives to Discover Dogs in London and at Crufts.

The Club AGM takes place in late March each year and is followed by an open show. The Championship Show takes place in late September each year and both shows are open to all PWDs whether they are members of the Club or not. Schedules will be posted to all club members.
